Reminder: Report on UBC Okanagan’s Declaration of Commitments to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission
We would like to remind you to join us tomorrow morning to discuss the report on UBC Okanagan’s Declaration of Commitments to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. In this remote learning session, panellists will discuss UBC Okanagan’s progress on its TRC commitments, the role of post-secondary institutions in response to the TRC Calls to Action and how your work can further inform and contribute to those commitments.
Panellists will include Jeannette Armstrong, Associate Professor, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Canada Research Chair in Okanagan Indigenous Knowledge and Philosophy; Bill Cohen, Assistant Professor, Okanagan School of Education; Margaret Macintyre Latta, Professor and Director, Okanagan School of Education; and Jordan Ned, Graduate Student. Elder Eric Mitchell will provide his reflections and response to the report and discussion.
This is an important aspect of our ongoing commitment and dedication to meaningful truth and reconciliation work at UBC. We encourage the entire campus community to join in this discussion.
