Cover art to brighten Arts Building spaces
I am writing on behalf of the UBC Okanagan deans to let you know that we are moving forward with a new project designed to brighten up some of our classrooms and highlight the connections between teaching and research here on campus.
The project involves posting artwork in classrooms in the Arts Building. The images posted will be reproductions of the covers of books authored or edited by faculty here at UBCO.
Professor Andrew Irvine in the Department of Economics, Philosophy and Political Science has agreed to serve as the coordinator for this project, and will soon be striking a committee to make recommendations for classroom posters. I invite anyone who would like to have their work showcased to contact Professor Irvine (email@example.com).
We expect that this will be a multi-year project that will display the book covers of many UBC Okanagan faculty members. The project will also be extended to include the cover art featured on journal issues that highlight articles published by UBCO researchers. The first few posters will be displayed in two or three classrooms shortly.
I would like to thank Ananya Mukherjee Reed, Rob Einarson, and Shelley Kayfish for their support of this project.
