The end of the summer marks an important tradition at UBC Okanagan: the bestowing of the annual Staff Awards of Excellence.
An online survey of UBC Okanagan faculty and staff is underway to gain a better understanding of the current state of health and wellbeing on campus, and to gather information about the use of and satisfaction with campus services, facilities and amenities related to health and wellbeing.
A new gardening club has sprung to life on campus.
The club has organized a series of five Learning Local Landscapes workshops hosted by community experts and UBC Okanagan faculty members. The workshops began in August and are continuing throughout September and October.
Save lives this year with four Partners for Life clinics
The UBC Okanagan Partners for Life team is getting ambitious about saving lives
The team has organized a series of on-campus blood donor clinics for the fall and winter, beginning Wednesday, September 28. This will be followed by a clinic on October 26, as well as two in 2017 on January 17 and January 18.
The 30 Day Online Mindfulness Challenge is online training focused on reducing stress, while increasing joy and performance in all areas of life including leadership, interpersonal communication, conflict management, and decision-making in the workplace.
UBC student receives Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation award
Barber School student Cassidy Northway is the recipient of a summer studentship award from the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, enabling her to spend summer working to advance a new treatment for early-stage breast cancer.
