Board of Governors approves $100M allocation to the Okanagan campus from UBC’s TREK endowment

The $100M will be used towards a fundraising campaign for the campus and the annual revenue will go towards supporting students, beginning immediately.

UBCO talks international education strategy with Minister of International Trade Diversification

On September 5, we had a visit from the Honorable James Carr, Minister of International Trade Diversification to discuss areas of synergy between UBC Okanagan’s priorities and new opportunities provided through Canada’s International Education Strategy.

Doctoral student wins gold at the Parapan American Quad-tennis

Rob Shaw, a doctoral student in the Faculty of Health and Social Development, landed on top of the podium with a gold medal at the Parapan American Quad-tennis championships in Lima, Peru.

Rob is the first ever Canadian tennis player to win a singles medal at a multi-sport games.

Dela Hini won a Strong Woman award for creating her pink backpack project which distributed sanitary supplies, toiletries and cosmetics to exploited and marginalized women in Kelowna.

Dela Hini, a third-year sociology student, received a Top 20 Under 25 award for her campaign – The Pink Backpack Project – which provides sanitary supplies, toiletries and cosmetics for exploited and marginalized women in Kelowna.
